Our Beach
Situated immediately below the hotel, Soar Mill Cove is one of the most idyllic havens in the area. Surrounded by stunning cliffs, which are alive with beautiful wild flowers in the Spring and early Summer, the beach is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Groomed regularly by ourselves, it's great fun for the kids too (of all ages!).
In the autumn and winter months the beach is the perfect place to blow out the cobwebs, we are blessed with a mild climate here in South Devon and on a bright winter's day the sun can actually even seem quite warm! Some guests love to come down to watch the boiling sea during a storm and then retreat to the warm glow of the hotel and a hot toddie.
Conservation of this beautiful beach is top of the agenda to ensure that we keep it special for future generations to enjoy. Our volunteer team, pick up flotsam and jetsum from time to time as well as keeping an eye on our environmental impact of the cove and surrounding valley.
Soar Mill Cove is home to an endangered species "Shore Dock.
