Families are very welcome at Soar Mill Cove Hotel.  We have been taught the hard way by our own children so we never patronize the teenager, never underestimate the needs of the toddler and try our best as our children grow up not to forget the whole families needs.

We never impose rules but try our best to offer a range of options always with the caveat that you can always tell us to do it differently ! We offer high tea and family dinner times with children most welcome in the restaurant. From building your dream castle of sand to beating Dad in a swimming race where could be better for a traditional family holiday ?

There are a wealth of things to do with your children from The National Marine Aquarium, Woodlands Leisure Park, Pennywell Farm for the younger guests, Sailing and Windsurfing lessons in Salcombe, fetes aplenty in all the villages of the South Hams, including Hope Cove Weekend, Dartmouth and Salcombe Regattas and Kingsbridge Music Festival Fair Week.

Sports locally welcome to families are Thurlestone, Dartmouth and Bigbury Golf Courses, Kingsbridge and Salcombe Rugby Clubs with popular matches between this two rivals, Squash and Badminton in Kingsbridge, and for the petrol heads amongst your families we have power boating and water skiing. For those wanting to get close to nature how about a PADI course, starting in our swimming pool followed by your first open water dive ?

For the coolest families there is of course only one option open - Learn to Surf - go on Dad it's easy, honest !
