Celebrating Christmas & New Year
As a family hotel we offer a variety of events and acts that cater for guests from tots to grandparents and then all in between throughout the period which may include: resident pianist Mike Alvey, The Patrick Covey Band, Mikes "Name That Tune", family quizzes, guided walks to smugglers inns with Land Rover returns, Cookery Classes, Wine Tasting, Champagne Receptions, Magical entertainment and always the obligatory visit from Santa Claus and even the rather stylish Mrs Claus.

Why not stay for both
We offer a great value package for the period in between Christmas & New Year, so why rush when you could spend the time on short listing all those resolutions for when you get home. Work will always be there and the best holidays are the ones that you remember for the longest.

Christmas Eve
Arriving on the 23rd always guarantees an easy journey and it gives you the opportunity to join the choir of The Stanborough Chorus as they sing Christmas carols around the tree, accompanied of course, by hot punch Christmas Eve. A time for a little over indulgence with fine food, good company some enjoyable wines and no need to drive home! Midnight Mass in parish church of Salcombe is a popular tradition to end a great day and of course we chauffeur you there and then back to a well stocked lounge with mulled wine and warm mince pies for old St Nick.

Christmas decoration

Christmas Day
We hope Santa's reindeers did not disturb your slumber, our housekeeper has trained them over the years to tip toe along the corridor and wipe their hooves on the mat. Santa will of course make his annual appearance as tradition dictates to give a gift to guests of all ages. Lunch is in the grand style with a choice of both free range Turkey and Goose as well as seafood and of course well thought out vegetarian options. Curl up with a glass of brandy for the Queen’s speech otherwise the wilds of the Devonshire countryside provides the best organic workout money can buy.

Boxing Day
Enjoy a lazy start to the day before a pre theatre brunch as Cinderella's coach is waiting to whisk to Plymouth’s theatre Royal for today is Panto Day – oh yes it is. However do not fear if you prefer the cry of boo hiss then please be assured entertainment at Soar Mill Cove is always low key and certainly never compulsory. You may of course prefer to take our coach to simply enjoy the sights of Plymouth’s famous Barbican and The Hoe.

Drinks

New Years Eve
Best Bib and Tucker tonight as we start with iced Champagne the only way to start the evening. Dine on the very best of the Westcountry culminating in the most delicious homemade desserts. Gentle piano music throughout dinner with a magical table show to enjoy throughout before the tempo turns up to allow for some more serious dancing to take place pausing of course for the beats of Big Ben and the joining of hands for the ubiquitous Old Land Syne.

News Years Day
Bloody Mary’s, delivered to your door followed by a Devonshire Breakfast served in the comfort of your room or the peace of your bedroom. Then join Keith for a guided walk to Bolberry Down as he tells you the history of the smugglers coastline laced with a hearty selection of anecdotes then pause at a quaint pub for a glass of local cider, before been offered the choice a return walk or a lift back courtesy of the firms Land Rover. Later that evening a dinner a dinner without quite so much formality but all the flamboyance of a fabulous evening is yours to relax over with new friends and great company.
